Well it actually depends upon the size of a real estate agency. Of course, there are some perks if real estate agents have both a personal website and app however being a software consultant, I would say there are limited or little benefit from having a personal mobile app for a small or mid size real estate agency. For them, having good SEO or informative mobile friendly website is sufficient one.
Seen and work with both app and web domain, I would suggest you should go for your business app only if that is going to be used by your customers on daily basis. Let me give you some simple examples. Gaming , payment or entertainment apps(like streaming, photo editing etc.) have daily users. Food delivery app(Zomato/Swiggy), ridesharing apps(Ola/Uber) or shopping apps(Flipkart/Amazon) etc. have frequent user base. But the real estate is not a segment where your general customers (esp. of a small/mid size realty agency) search or buy property on the daily basis. In fact, in India most of the people are buying house once or twice a life time. Most of the investors are dealing with builders directly or going through the big realty agencies. Now, rental users search for the properties mostly once a year or when their agreement (mostly annually) is over. So I don’t see any daily users in the real estate segment apart from a realtor himself. A realtor has to manage his/her property on daily basis but that can be done on the web too. A mobile friendly website is sufficient for a small/mid size property firm. Of course, if you want to compete with 99acres, MagicBricks or Housing then personal mobile apps are must but their business model is different and they work as real estate aggregators. Noborker or Nestaway has also different business model where it acts as a medium between house owners and tenants. I would suggest any real estate agency first to build the sufficient traffics on its portal and test the waters. After that if they grow gradually and looking for their business model shift then better to foray mobile app segment.
