Sandeep Aggarwal was previously a senior Internet and software analyst at Caris & Company, a San Francisco-based, research-driven boutique investment bank. He left his post as a prominent Wall Street analyst covering major Internet companies like eBay, Amazon and Google to return to India and launched an online marketplace called ShopClues. He, along with Sanjay Sethi (head of global product management at eBay) incorporated Clues Network Inc. in Silicon Valley – the company behind the e-commerce venture. They built ShopClues with a group of Silicon Valley veterans with experience at firms like eBay, Oracle, Microsoft and Nordstrom. That team had worked to incorporate features into the marketplace that were familiar to U.S. online shoppers, such as a recommendation engine and a loyalty program that rewards customers for paying with methods.
