Zolostays – Startup Story

Startup Stories Startups

Zolo Stays, is an Indian co-living startup based out of Bangalore, offering rental accommodation in the form of co-living spaces to young professionals and students.

Dr Nikhil Sikri finished his MBBS in the year 2007 from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. After which he practised as a doctor in Singapore and then coming back to India to pursue management from The Indian School of Business in Hyderabad from 2011-12. For a short period, he worked in the corporate sector with Cerner Corporation and Deloitte where he met his life partner Sneha Choudhry, who later became co-founder of Zolo. Sneha Choudhry was founder of two companies before Zolo Stays. Nikhil’s brother, Akhil Sikri, a computer science engineering grad from IIT Delhi,  also joined the team later on as the CTO of Zolo.

Earlier, the team worked on a product called “AugBrain” related to educational technology between 2014-2015. Due to a lack of a right model for developing the product the team decided to start something unique which could impact more lives. Thus, began Zolo- a flat aggregator, hostels, and PGs accommodator in India enabling clients to book rooms and accommodations via online. They first began operations in Bangalore and quickly expanded to other cities which have a significant student and working crowd such as Chennai, Gurgaon, New Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, Kota, Coimbatore, and Mumbai.
